The Active Shooter Incident Management 4-hour performance level direct delivery course is designed to improve incident management and integration of LE, Fire, EMS responders to active shooter events. "School Safety" is a very broad and sometimes daunting term. We focus on what your priorities and needs are and work with you to enhance your plans, training, drills, and exercises without losing balance between safety/security and a positive learning environment.
A key ingredient in managing an active assailant incident is an integrated and coordinated response. After years of conducting "active shooter" drills, training and exercises we have found that often times there is a gap between the initial responders and the follow on supervisory/command staff and additional agencies that arrive. We can assist with getting everyone to work under a common operating picture and process.
Public Safety Telecommunicators play an integral part in the response to "active shooter" events. Our training provides detailed information and data regarding active shooter events, critical benchmarks that should be met during an incident, and responding officer/agency considerations. We also provide guiding principles and fundamentals of crisis communications (hostage negotiation) for dispatchers.
